The Nap

Your nap is your one horse for the day. The table ranks everyone by how often theirs wins, so you can see whose is worth following.

Today’s naps are in

All ten have napped for this afternoon. Members see them before the off — everyone else sees them tomorrow, with the result.

£4.99 a month after that, or £39 a year. Cancel any time — we will remind you two days before it starts.

The table shown is a preview — the Nap opens when the app does.

Anything on today’s card — who rides what, how a trainer is doing, where the going has changed. Answers come from the racecard, not from a guess.

Ask

Ask

Anything on today’s card. Answers come from the racecard, not from a guess.

What it can answer

Only what is on the card: the horses, jockeys, trainers, owners, draws, weights, ratings, form figures, going and race times for today and tomorrow. Ask it anything else — the weather in Spain, who won the Derby in 1994, when the pyramids were built — and it will tell you it cannot place the question, because it has nowhere to look it up. It never guesses, and it never offers a tip.

Two days are loaded here. On the full data plan the same questions reach back years.

Tingle Creek · Saturday

Jonbon heads a Tingle Creek field of eight

RCRaceCrowd newsroom · 4 min read

Listen to this article About 2 minutes

Eight have stood their ground for Saturday’s Tingle Creek, and the two-mile championship picture is no clearer for it. Jonbon heads the market, but the ground is the question everyone at Sandown is asking.

Rain is forecast through Friday. Soft would suit two of the eight and inconvenience three, and connections of the favourite have been careful not to commit until they walk it on the morning.

“He has done nothing wrong. We will look at it on Saturday morning and go from there.”The winning trainer, speaking on Wednesday

The market has been steady all week, and the yards involved have said little more than they need to. Ground is the one variable nobody can call before Friday night.

Whatever happens, the two-mile picture will look different by Sunday morning. That is the point of the race, and it is why it has kept its place in the calendar for fifty years.
